Saskatchewan Secures the Largest Ever PNP Allocation to boost Provincial Immigration

The Government of Canada increased the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) allocation to 7,250, besides plans to increase allocations for 2024 and 2025.

Record SINP allocation

The annual SINP allocation of 7,250 for 2023 is the highest-ever PNP allocation in the history of Saskatchewan provincial immigration. Saskatchewan received higher allocations for 2024 and 2025, amounting to 8,000 and 8,500, respectively.

Saskatchewan’s government seeks greater control over its immigration program, as it will boost the province’s growing economy and labor market. Saskatchewan expects 135,800 job vacancies within the next five years. IRCC agreed to grant more jurisdiction to Saskatchewan for assessing candidates’ economic potential and intent to settle in the province.

Multi-year allocations

The government of Canada is providing multi-year allocations to provinces for the first time in the history of provincial immigration. Canada will welcome a record number of immigrants through various provincial nominee programs in 2023, as the annual PNP allocations account for over 44 percent growth. Saskatchewan estimates over 18,000 new immigrants comprising PNP nominees and their families. Canada will welcome more immigrants through provincial nomination than any other immigration pathway in 2023 and beyond.

The immigration levels plan aims to welcome 105,500 PNP immigrants in 2023. Stronger ties with the province help PNP immigrants integrate into the job market more smoothly than other immigration pathways.
