QS World University Rankings Feature Three Canadian Universities Among the World’s Top 34 Post-secondary Institutions
The 2024 QS World Rankings rank the University of Toronto, McGill University, and University of British Columbia within the world’s top 34 universities.
The latest edition of 2024 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings comprises 1,500 post-secondary institutions from 104 locations. QS World University Rankings stress the three parameters of sustainability, employability, and international research network. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, US got the highest rankings for achieving top scores on all parameters with an overall score of 100.
University of Toronto (2024 QS Rank 21)
The University of Toronto made huge progress by jumping 21 positions to rank 21st in the 2024 QS World University Rankings. The 2023 ranking of the University of Toronto was 34. The major gains were in the international, academic, and employer reputation. The University of Toronto is home to a culturally diverse student landscape across three sprawling campuses. McGill University (2024 QS Rank 30)

McGill University in Quebec prioritizes experiential learning and research.
British Columbia University ((2024 QS Rank 34)
A big jump by 13 positions places British Columbia University at 34th rank in the 2024 QS World University Rankings. UBC achieved 47th position in the 2023 QS Ranking. The university gained higher scores in parameters of international faculty ratio and academic and employer reputation. UBC boasts of a vibrant student community besides its scenic campus.
