New Category-based Express Entry Draw Invites 1,500 Candidates with French Language Skills

Canada invited 1,500 candidates for PR approval in the latest French-category Express Entry draw.

There was a surprise general draw on March 25, 2024. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) continued holding Express Entry draws this week with a second invitation round on March 26, 2024.

The new draw sent invitations to French-speaking candidates with active profiles in the Express Entry pool. The minimum CRS score cut-off for the French-category Express Entry draw was 388 points. The March 26 Express Entry draw marks the year’s third round of invitations under the French-speaking category.

The CRS cut-off follows the trend of low minimum score requirements for the French-category Express Entry draws. It had a lower volume of invitations, making it the smallest Express Entry invitation round under the French language category this year. Successful candidates in the recent Express Entry draw can expect notifications in their inboxes within 24 hours.

The recent increase in the target to invite more Francophone candidates outside Quebec underscores Canada’s commitment to extend its immigration objective beyond economic considerations. Canada perceives immigration as a tool to enrich the population with social and linguistic attributes.
