Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program Draw Distributes 163 LAAs Across Multiple Streams

On June 21, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted its latest draw, issuing 163 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates across various immigration streams. This draw highlights Manitoba’s ongoing commitment to attracting skilled workers and graduates to bolster the province’s workforce.

The International Education Stream (IES) was the primary beneficiary, with 111 LAAs issued to graduates from Manitoba institutions. This stream allows these graduates to secure employment and settle in the province, reinforcing Manitoba’s focus on retaining talent educated within its borders.

Additionally, the Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO) stream, particularly the Strategic Recruitment Initiative, saw 52 LAAs issued. Candidates in this category required a minimum score of 721 points to qualify. Of these, 31 candidates also possessed valid Express Entry IDs and job seeker validation codes, enhancing their prospects for permanent residence.

Those currently working in Manitoba or holding job offers from Manitoba employers may find the Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM) stream particularly advantageous.

This stream includes two key pathways: the Manitoba Work Experience Pathway, open to individuals already working in Manitoba on temporary permits or as international graduates, and the Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway, designed for those with job offers from approved Manitoba employers while residing overseas.

The Skilled Workers Overseas Stream (SWO) offers additional opportunities for skilled workers abroad.

The Manitoba Express Entry Pathway is tailored for candidates who meet Express Entry criteria, possess skills in Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations, and have close family ties to the province.

The Human Capital Pathway targets skilled workers with experience in in-demand occupations, emphasizing their potential to secure employment upon arrival in Manitoba.

The International Education Stream (IES) supports graduates from Manitoba’s educational institutions through three pathways. The Career Employment Pathway requires the completion of a qualifying program and a job offer in an in-demand occupation with residency in Manitoba.

The Graduate Internship Pathway is available to Masters and Doctoral graduates who have completed internships through Mitacs Accelerate or Elevate programs, even without a job offer.

The Student Entrepreneur Pathway is for graduates who have operated a business in Manitoba for six months post-graduation, with no specific net worth requirement.
