IRCC Conducts new Express Entry Draw Issuing 3,500 Invites across All Programs

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held the eleventh Express Entry draw of the year on April 26, despite the ongoing strike.

The latest all-program Express Entry draw processed 3,500 Invitations to Apply. CRS cut-off dropped by three points from the previous draw to 483 points. Previous all-program Express Entry draw required a minimum CRS score of 486 across categories, including Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

The April 26 Express Entry draw is unusual as over 150,000 PSAC workers are on strike. The strike may cause delays in the processing of applications, though IRCC continues to accept online applications. Candidates can contact IRCC through e-mail or phone. The Invitation to Apply (ITA) requires a minimum of 24 hours to appear in the candidate’s IRCC account. The candidate has a maximum of 60 days to submit a PR application to IRCC after receiving the Invitation to Apply (ITA). IRCC officials will thoroughly review the final application for permanent residence before arriving at a decision on PR approval. The process is subject to delays because of the ongoing strike by Canada’s public service employees.
