Canada’s Provincial Immigration is on the Roll as Provinces Invite 5,464 Candidates in February 2023
Provincial immigration is gaining momentum as 5,464 immigration candidates received Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in February 2023 alone. Notable contributions came from Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Prince Edward Island, and British Columbia. The following are a few highlights of PNP draws in February 2023.
Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)
February 2, 2023 – Ontario held two targeted PNP draws on February 2, for the Human Capital Priorities stream, issuing 1,902 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to applicants in Tech and Health occupations for permanent residence. The CRS score range was between 476 and 489 points.
February 9, 2023 – Ontario conducted the second draw for the skilled trades stream after the first January 13 draw. February 9, 2023, OINP draw for the skilled trades stream invited 510 candidates to issue Letters of Advice to Apply.
February 10, 2023 – Ontario held two draws for Express Entry– Skilled Trades stream and Employer Job Offer (Foreign Worker) stream. The draws issued 771 Letters of Advice to Apply to immigration candidates.
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)
February 9, 2023 – The first regular MPNP draw of February issued 308 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates for provincial immigration, as the earlier MPNP draw focused on Ukrainian refugees through a Special Immigration Measure.
February 23 and 24, 2023 – The back-to-back draws of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program on 23rd and 24th February focused on the regular, special measure, and occupation-specific streams issuing 600 Letters of Advice to Apply.
Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)
February 16, 2023 – Saskatchewan invited 421 immigration candidates on 16th February. The draw targeted Occupations in Demand and Express Entry streams of the International Skilled Worker category. The SINP draw also issued an Invitation to Apply for a Ukrainian immigration candidate through a special immigration drive.
Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP)
February 16, 2023 – The monthly PEI PNP draw invited 228 candidates for provincial immigration. TPEI PNP draw selected candidates from the Express Entry, Labor, and Business categories of PEI PNP. Prince Edward Island will hold the next PNP draw on March 16, 2023.
British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP)
February 7, 2023 – The general and targeted invitation rounds of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program invited 245 candidates to apply for permanent residence.
February 14, 2023 – The recent BC PNP draw issued invitations to 237 immigration candidates.
Provincial Nominee Programs will be major immigration drivers in 2023. Canada aims at welcoming 105,500 new immigrants as permanent residents through provincial immigration this year.
