Canada Holds the First Express Entry Draw in June, Inviting 4,800 Candidates
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship (IRCC) issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to 4,800 candidates on June 8, 2023.
The June month’s first All-program Express Entry draw required candidates to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 486 points for selection. The lowest CRS cut-off record for All-program Express Entry draws is 413 points, while the highest record stands at 886 points. The number of candidates in the Express Entry pool as of June 8 is 222,166.
The Express Entry profiles remain active in the pool for one year from the profile creation date. Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) does not announce a public schedule of Express Entry draws.
The new category-based Express Entry draws
IRCC will begin holding category-based Express Entry draws targeting the following categories.
Healthcare occupations
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) occupations
Transport occupations
Agri-food and agriculture occupations
Trades occupations like carpenters, contractors, and plumbers
IRCC will also target a category of French-speaking candidates in the new category-based Express Entry draws. The candidates in these categories will receive rankings to facilitate the selection of the highest-ranking candidates in the category-based Express Entry draws.
