British Columbia’s Targeted and General PNP Draws Invite 258 Candidates for Permanent Residency
British Columbia conducted its latest PNP draw on March 21, 2023, inviting nearly 258 candidates to apply for permanent residence.
A new Skills Immigration draw of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) selected 258 candidates to receive Invitations to Apply (ITAs). The BC PNP draw issued invitations under targeted and general categories inviting International Graduates and Skilled Workers.
BC PNP General Draw
The General Draw of BC PNP invited 202 candidates having minimum scores as under:
Skilled Worker – 101 points
Skilled Worker EEBC option – 101 points
Entry Level and Semi-skilled – 85 points
International Graduates – 106 points
International Graduates EEBC option – 106 points
BC PNP Targeted Draw
The Targeted Draw of BC PNP invited 56 candidates having minimum scores as under:
Childcare (34 Skilled Workers and International Graduates) – 60 points
Healthcare (17 Skilled Workers and International Graduates) – 60 points
The targeted draw also selected five candidates from Other Priority occupations comprising skilled workers and international graduates.
BC PNP application process
British Columbia nominates eligible candidates applying for provincial nomination to seek permanent residence after approval from the federal government of Canada. BC PNP helps British Columbia select candidates for provincial immigration under Skills Immigration, Tech Pilot, Entrepreneur Immigration, and Express Entry streams.
The application process involves:
Online profile – eligible candidates create an online profile on the BC PNP online registration system.
Submission of EOI – candidates submit an Expression of Interest profile and get a points score
Invitation to Apply – BC PNP draw selects candidates through periodic PNP draws, issuing Invitation to Apply (ITA)
The ITA qualifies the candidates for provincial immigration. They should apply to Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residence.
