BREAKING: Surprise All-program Express Entry Draw by IRCC Invites 700 Candidates
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a surprise all-program Express Entry draw to issue Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to 700 candidates.
Candidates required a minimum CRS score of 511 points to receive Invitations in the latest all-program Express Entry draw by Canada. Fewer candidates in the latest Express Entry draw explain the relatively high CRS score cut-off. The CRS score is the highest among this year’s all-program Express Entry draws. The draw was a surprise because IRCC plans to hold a category-based Express Entry draw this week.
Canada’s Category-Based Express Entry Draws
Category-based Express Entry draw is the new selection category under Canada’s Express Entry application management system. It enables Canada to welcome new immigrants with proven experience across in-demand occupations. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) identifies the following six categories for the selection of candidates through the new category-based Express Entry draws. These are:
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
Healthcare
Trades
Transport
Agriculture and Agri-food
French-language proficiency
This week, we expect 1,500 candidates to receive Invitations to Apply in the forthcoming category-based draw by IRCC. IRCC will select candidates under the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) category in the first-ever STEM category-based Express Entry Draw on July 5. The last Express Entry draw to select candidates from healthcare occupations required candidates to have a minimum CRS score of 476 points.
