Alberta, BC, PEI, and Quebec Issue Invitations in Recent Provincial Immigration Draws

A total of 1579 candidates will receive ITAs in recent provincial nomination draws in four provinces.

The January 14- January 20 Provincial Immigration results for four provinces are out. Alberta and Quebec held the recent draws in December 2022 and published results this week.

Provincial Immigration – Alberta

A total of 129 candidates received Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through the Express Entry stream of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program. The draw required candidates to have a minimum CRS score of 305. 

The province held the draw on December 8 but made the results public this week. Alberta will focus on candidates in high-demand occupations besides family ties while selecting Express Entry candidates in the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP).

British Columbia provincial nomination

British Columbia invited over 187 candidates in various categories on January 17 to apply for provincial nominations.

The general draw invited 154 candidates in tech occupations under international graduates and skilled worker categories. These included Entry level, Semi-skilled, and Express Entry candidates. 

The minimum BC PNP SIRS threshold was 105 for skilled workers and international graduates. Semi-skilled and Entry Level candidates required a minimum SIRS score of 82. 

British Columbia’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) is equivalent to the Express Entry system’s CRS scores.

The draw also invited 18 candidates in the early childhood educators and assistants category and 15 healthcare workers with a minimum SIRS threshold of 60 points.

PEI conducts the first PNP draw of 2023

Prince Edward Island held the first PEI PNP draw of 2023 on January 19, inviting 216 candidates under its Labor and Express Entry Stream. The province also issued invitations to seven applicants in the Business Work Permit Entrepreneur category. Candidates willing to immigrate to Prince Edward Island should apply to the PEI PNP by submitting a separate Expression of Interest.

Quebec invites 1047 skilled workers

Quebec held the draw to invite candidates having Expression f Interest profiles in its Arrima portal on December 15. The province issued invitations to 1047 candidates with EOI scores of 571 and above. The EOI draw targeted candidates with job offers outside of the Metropolitan Community of Montreal in occupations with specific NOCs. 

Candidates applying under Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) with ITAs should apply for permanent residency within 60 days. The processing of applications will be within six months after receiving complete applications and supporting forms and documents.
