However, before you start zooming off, you should become aware of what you need to drive in the Great White North.
If you are from outside Canada and are visiting Quebec, you should have a valid home country driver’s license andan International Driver’s Permit.
Note that you can drive for up to six months here as a visitor.
If you are from outside Canada and are studying in Quebec, you should have a valid home country driver’s license.
Using this, you can drive for the duration of your studies or trainee ship. However, you are required to exchange your driving license to a Quebec license if you become a Quebec resident.
As a new resident of Quebec, you can change your home country driving permit to a Class 5 license within six months of taking residency.

You can exchange it to a Quebec Class 5 driver’s license.
In case your country is not on this list, you will need to undergo a complete drivers license examination, comprising knowledge, vision,and road tests.In case your driving experience is less than one year, you have to follow a driving course and follow the graduated licensing process to obtain a learners license.
